Objective:
At
the conclusion of this lesson, students should be able to do the following:
- Understand
the purposes for using the World Wide Web to learn about propaganda
and its usage during the Spanish American War and World War II.
- Identify
and understand the types of propaganda used by governments during the
Spanish American War and World War II.
Anticipatory
Set:
Project
web site main page onto screen for whole class viewing or allow each student
to visit it individually.
Activities:
- Form
three groups and assign a "K-W-L" to each group- write what
students know (K) about propaganda, the Spanish-American War and World
War II - write what students want to know (W) and then after exploring
the web site, students should write what they have learned (L).
- Groups
will share their top three items from each list in a discussion.
- Students
will complete a chart listing types of propaganda used by governments
during the Spanish American War and World War II.
Closure:
Teacher-led
discussion on types of propaganda and their uses today.
