A tsunami is a series of waves, generated in a body of water by disturbances that displaces the water column vertically. Earthquakes, landslides, volcanic eruptions, explosions, and even the impact of cosmic bodies, such as meteorites, can g enerate tsunamis. When tsunamis reach coastlines, properties are damage and lives are lost.
