- Very large tropical lows which spin counterclockwise
- Other clouds rotate around it
- Occurs in tropical areas and is so violent that it can impact wather along the entire East coast and Gulf coast of the United States
- Reach a constant speed of 74mph or more
- The eye of the storm is approximately 20-30 miles wide and may extend over 400 miles
