Classroom - Floods - Safety Precautions

Before a flood, one must have knowledge on it. There are certain terms to note, such as flood watch and flood warning. Flood watch is defined as "flooding [that] is possible within a certain area" while flood warning is defined as "a flood [that] is imminent or one that has already been reported".

One must also learn to recognize environmental clues that indicate an upcoming flood, such as heavy rains, topography, as well as the flood history of the region.
