Floods are usually caused by too much rain. However, this is not the only cause of floods. Floods can be triggered from excessive melting of snow, when there is too much water for the ground to absorb water, or when ice, or other objects block the flow of the river. Just like all natural disasters, floods do much damage to property and homes. It can even kill people and animals. Besides, communities situated in flood zones must be rebuilt with proper flood controlling equipment to prevent over extensive damages due to floods. Back (What is a flood?) | Next (Safety) |
