World Solar Challenge
The Solar Challenge is a race between solar car teams from all over the
world. The race is held in Australia and cars drive from Darwin to Adelaide.
Teams have to build a car which runs using daylight for its fuel. Cars
have 8 square meters of which teams place their solar cells, cells don't
have to be voltaic but teams have found that solar electric is the best
way to go for the race.
This year is the 6th solar challenge and the only time you see all the
teams together is at the start line because once the teams are off teams
are already diverse in their location and teams must set camp at 5pm.
The challenge gives people involved a great sense of adventure as well
as a sense of personal journey.
The World Solar Challenge is about finding better way of finding a better
way of mobility. Currently people's main purpose for travel is pleasure
and work and our form of transportation has large expenses and need of
too many resources which we won't be able sustain for our travelling purpose
in the future. It's also about adventure and having fun with the new experiences.
