development

The entire website has been hand-coded to minimize wasteful, unoptimised page source-code that is usually made through HTML editing software such as Microsoft FrontPage. The simple combination of a text editor and graphic software, along with a trustworthy browser was sufficient for the development of the entire site. It is thanks to this coding and design ideology that the site has such an amazingly low loading time.

The incorporation of advanced plug-in technologies like, Shockwave Flash, Liquid Audio, and Real Video has been intentionally avoided since we can understand that most people hesitate to change or update such plug-ins, and when used, they do hog Internet bandwidth. However, we did regret the fact that the PNG (Portable Network Graphics) format was not open for our use due to limited support in current-day browsers.

The coding is fully standards-compliant to the best of our knowledge, and the DHTML has been designed to be absolutely cross-browser compatible. The site performs perfectly with Internet Explorer 5. However, due to time limitations, we were not able to fully test the site on various versions of Netscape Navigator.

We would like to point out that you avoid the use of Netscape 6 or Mozilla for viewing the normal version of the site since these browsers are still under development, and when we tested the site with them, the results were not what one could call pretty. Ironically, these very popular browsers are not yet fully standards compliant. We even tested simpler DHTML code that ought to have performed perfectly. You might be able to guess what happened.
