ABOUT US
Team
Elektrik Shadow was formed around our common appreciation for the music that
came from the 1960's and 70's. When we first started talking about
building a web page, we knew that it would have to be about the music that we
both enjoy. We further developed our idea on the way home from ThinkQuest
training and decided to limit it to this particular era of music.
Team collaboration was a problem at first, even though we have been friends foreleven years, since the beginning of first grade. We had to learn to respect each other's opinions and trust each other's ideas. For the first few weeks, we had limited access to our school's server. Downloading a simple font or picture took at least fifteen minutes.
When we began this webpage, we had to learn how individual skills would play a part and which skills we had. Before this competition, neither A.J. nor myself (Jason) had built a web page. We did not have experience with a web authoring tool. A.J. brought the sophisticated computer knowledge to the project. I (Jason) brought the highly developed research skills. We both used our extensive knowledge of music of this era to bring passion to this web page.
The objective of this web page is to enlighten users about the music of yesteryear and explain it's significance to events during this time. Our timeline is intended to help people understand the order in which major events occurred. Our interactive quiz is to promote interest in the subject.

Jason
I was born on January 11, 1985 and have lived my entire life in Huron, South Dakota. I am currently attending Huron Senior High School as a sophomore. My academic interests include chemistry, computer applications, and advanced math. My hobbies are astronomy, golf, computers, and reading. After high school, I would like to attend MIT or CIT, majoring in nuclear or chemical engineering.
A.J.
I am sixteen years old, all of which have been lived in Huron, South Dakota. I also attend HSHS and am a sophomore. Academically, I enjoy advanced math and chemistry. I am a Scorpio with brown hair and brown eyes. I like to golf, work on cars, and play video games, all while listening to music. The career field I plan to pursue is aerospace engineering.
Coach
This is the students' first experience at building a web page. They have an immense knowledge of music and it was natural for them to educate others about their favorite era. They learned research skills and how to operate the web authoring tool. Collaboration skills didn't come easily at first, but they had a lot of fun coming to agreement. I've taught high school for 21 years in the areas of computers, business, gifted education, and video productions. ThinkQuest has been a positive addition to our curriculum. When I'm not teaching I enjoy my new grandson, Jett, and riding horses in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
