Prosthetic Limbs
Having physical incapacity as a result of the loss of a limb is a tragic. But with the advancement of science and technology, engineers are capable to create an artificial replacement that is close to the natural one. Artificial limbs have and are still being tried with success. Prosthetic limbs are improving the life of many disabled. There is no end to discovery and that is why prosthetic limbs are undergoing revolution to create a better replacement, so that the wearer may not realize they are in fact wearing them.

Arms - Man's simplest machine classified as a lever. Losing the use of the arms (upper limbs) may bring about distress. Children without arms may suffer rejection by other children. With prosthetic arms disabled are given the chance to gain or regain the use of the arms.

Feet - Ever wondered how you got to the other side of the road? Probably with the use of your feet. Feet are essential for an easy and comfortable movement; 'They let you go'. Engineers have created artificial feet with success but are still in the quest for an artificial foot that is close to natural.

Fingers and Hands - Hands and fingers are the tools through which we write, eat, hold, drink and type. The absence of the hands and/or fingers could be as a result of many causes. Prosthetic hands and/or fingers are now used in the place of a natural one, enabling a person to perform what he used to do or what he has never done before.

Legs - The part of your body that enables you to walk and do other physical activities that requires you to move your body. Those born without legs have found away to do without them 'survival'. But for those that have lost them through accident, birth or injury, find this hard to accept. Artificial legs are able to assist those without these lower limbs to move and maybe someday go tap dancing!
