Asperger Syndrome comes under the general category of Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). People with Asperger Syndrome possess the characteristics of autism: difficulties with social communication, social interaction and imagination. However, they do not have the accompanying learning disabilities and tend to be high-functioning individuals, with average or above average intelligence. A famous person with Asperger Syndrome is Dr Temple Grandin, a gifted animal scientist living in the USA.
