Here is an example about a high-school science project done on memory. If you have done a project in school on memory, please tell us about it on the discussion board!
Title: Individual V. Group Study for Extroverts and Introverts
Emilie Sutterlin & I-Rang Im, VA
We wanted to find out if it was better for students to study for memorization tests alone or in groups. We thought it would make a difference if the student was extroverted or introverted. We thought extroverts would to better after studying in groups, but introverts would do better alone. We had volunteers study alone or in a group to memorize 20 danish vocabulary words and then tested them. They had previously been tested with the Myers-Briggs to determine their personality type. We found out that OUR HYPOTHESIS WAS INCORRECT. On the contrary, extroverts BENEFITED from studying ALONE. This benefit was statistically significant using the T-test. Introverts also did better alone, but this was not statistically significant.
We actually won grand prize at our County Science Fair for this project and went to San Jose, California for the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair Finals!
