1-Mercury is Roman name.
2-It has very thin atmosphere, it has many holes in it surface due to the falling of asteroids on it.
3-Mercury is the name of the GODS' MESSENGER (ancient Greek legend).

4-Its orbit is highly elliptical, So sun appears to rise and set in very fast way.
5-the Temperature in the side which faces the sun is equal to 430 C° and at the other surface the Temperature drop to -180 C° .
6-Due to it is between Earth and Sun, we see it like the moon, partially then totally, as MOON PHASES.
6-From nearly 4,000,000 years, a huge asteroid fall on Mercury , I made a very big hole [1300 KM] (fig 1),They called it the Caloris Basin.

1-Mercury is the nearest planet to the Sun [distance between the Sun and it ≈ 58 million km ].
2-It rotates around the Sun faster than any other planet [one revolution takes ≈88 Earth days] .
3-It complete one rotation around it self in ≈ 59 Earth day [one day].
4-You can see Mercury from Earth just before sunrise or just after sunset [Near the sun]-So you can't see it at night.
3-Size
1-Its diameter [Length of equator] = 5140 km.
2-It is the 2nd smallest planet in the Solar System [after Pluto].
3- Its mass is 1/24 of Earth's mass.
