The missing link - Who sculpted it?
The widely accepted theory is that pharaoh Khafre of the 4th Dynasty carved it sometime between 2520 and 2494 BC. There is no scientific evidence to disprove this theory, as carbon 14 dating cannot be used due to the rocks natural composure. The only two real discoveries that give archaeologists reason to believe The Sphinx was sculptured by pharaoh Khafre are the following:
