    With the beginning of the UFO craze that had left no single individual unaffected, the US Government ordered investigation into any reported UFO sighting. Between the summer of 1947 (about the time of the Roswell crash - see story "Roswell") and the end of 1952, around 3200 reports were collected. Investigations into every single one of these were carried out. This activity operated under the names Project Sign, Project Grudge and ultimately Project Blue Book.

    Blue Book would face its toughest challenge yet when, in 1952, a group of very fast objects were seen hovering around very low to the ground, as if inspecting, Washington's historic monuments over three consecutive weekends (perhaps that's what aliens do in their spare time!). And to make the possibility of these being mistaken for friendly aircraft less likely, these objects were flying in restricted airspace.
