Reflection

Reflection of a graph is necessary for graphs of the following forms:
                                    g(x) = f (-x)
                                            g(x) = -f(x)

Graph of y = -2 sin x

Notice that the graph has been reflected about the x-axis.

Modulus Function
The modulus function can also be applied to graphs of trigonometric functions.

Graph of y = | sin 2x + 0.5 |

Transformations applied to this graph:
1. Scaling along the x-axis by factor 0.5.
2. Translation along the y-axis by factor 0.5
3. Apply modulus function.

Graph of y = | sin 2x | - 2

Transformations applied to this graph:
1. Scaling along x-axis by factor 0.5.
2. Apply modulus function
3. Translation along y-axis by factor -2.
