Exponential & Logarithmic Functions

Another set of graphs that we will examine closely is that of the exponential and logarithmic functions. The exponential and logarithmic curves are simple to sketch, and here we introduce their properties as well as examine the manipulation of such graphs. The relationship between the two functions and its graphical representation is also discussed.

Exponential functions are commonly seen in the real world, thus its curves is commonly applied, mainly in calculations requiring exponential functions. Logarithmic functions are less common, with uses such as the pH and Richter scale, but the application of its graphs are similar.

In this section, we assume knowledge of the manipulation of exponential and logarithmic functions algebraically. This can be read up in our relevant articles in our section on algebra, Indices, Surds and Logarithms.

Go forth, and learn more.

Most of the sketch graphs in this section are the drawings of our coach, Mr. Lim P. K.. Used with permission.
