Remainder & Factor Theorem
What is Remainder & Factor Theorem? They are actually one theorem, remainder theorem. Factor theorem is just a special case of remainder theorem. It is used to solve equations of higher power, find the remainder when one polynomial is divided by another and factorise equations.
Why Learn Remainder & Factor Theorem? When solving equations, up to the fourth power, we can use formulas. But, for equations of fifth degree and above, there is no analytical solution. This was proven by Louise Lagrange using group theory. And then, one of the way to solve such equations is by applying the concept of remainder and factor theorem.
