We are here to warn you about a disease that’s worse than
asparagus… CANCER!!!!!!!!!!

suggested treatments, and even play a virtual doctor game!!!
How did our THINKQUEST team form?
Our team formed in the Narragansett Pier
School. We are in an enrichment class, and the teacher, Mrs. Walsh, said that
our class could make a website and put it in the Thinkquest Internet Challenge.
Since we are all good friends, it was easy to form a team.
How did we decide to do a site on cancer?
We
decided to do a site on cancer since each of us had a relative who died of some
type of cancer. We wanted to learn more on the subject to understand how cancer
affected some types of people and some parts of the body.
What challenges did our team have to overcome to make this site?
We
had to overcome many challenges. First, since this is a school project, we only
met about once a week. There were also snow days and vacation days, which took
away from the time we could work on the site. In March, Kevin broke his arm, so
he couldn’t do as much work on the site for 6 weeks. When someone was absent,
it dramatically slowed our team down. We also had problems with the Internet.
Arguably, the biggest problem we had was when our Index file got deleted. We
had to redo the entire index, which was incredibly annoying.
What unique skills were brought to the team to create our entry?
We had to learn how to do a
couple of things to create this site. First, we had to learn how to make the frames
come up on every part of this site. That was easy enough, but still took a
while. We also had to learn how to make the cool text on this site. We
eventually got sick of trying to make the text on our own, so we tried to find
something useful on the Internet. We found CoolText,
where we made most of the cool-looking text on this site.
