Black Hills
The Black Hills, named for it's black color, when viewed
from a distance due to its dark foliage, has been a wonder of
tourists everywhere. Including such attractions as Custer State
Park, the Badlands, and Harney Peak, the Black Hills have been
a tourist attraction for decades. An abundance of wildlife can
be found within the Black Hills and throughout other parks such
as Custer State Park, Crazy Horse National Monument, and the Badlands.
In earlier times, the Black Hills were known for the gold within
the giant mounds of earth, which brought many settlers of Scandinavian
descent to the area. One famous mine still left is the Homestake
Gold Mine. It is now famous in the scientific world for its study
of neutrinos that come from the sun. The Black Hills is a great
place to visit and is sure to welcome you on your trip here.
