Stavkirke Chapel, also known as "The Chapel in the Hills", gives any tourist a taste of the old country of Norway. Stavkirke was built in 1969 and resembles an 850 year old Borgund church in Norway. The building is full of intricate carvings of various characters, such as dragons and crosses named for St. Andrew. The Chapel is home to many weddings and it is open daily for evening worship. Admission is free. For the culturally enriched, Stavkirke Chapel is a must during your visit to the Black Hills.
