Theater

Theater people love emotions, they study them and take them to stage in their plays, they seek to be close to their own world and rescue the movements of the body, facial expression, a glance or simply the silence.

In Santiago there are many drama schools and the interest for this activity is important specially among young people. This may be a reason why it has become the most developed branch in art together with literature. Here is where the public shows most interest.

We may find in the city typical places in which these artists may be found, for example "Parque Forestal", in the streets we could find mimes, living statutes, hand puppeteers and clowns. Most of the time these are played by Drama students who go out in the streets any Sunday to show us what they do and also to earn some money to pay their studies.

In the streets we could find burlesque monologues or picaresque dialogues trying to cheer the city, we could also find several artistic expressions in a public transportation bus. The options in Santiago are many, starting from street shows to unimaginable characters and ideas developed by creative actors.
