Photography

It has always been the interest of a photographer to leave evidence in time, specially in Chile, separating issues such as political, journal and experimental photographs.

There are photographers that insist in capturing moments full of sensationalism showing violence or uncommon places. On the other hand there are the ones that like to capture with their camera softer and beautiful moments, or the ones that try to express reality or work with hybrid compositions.

It is not strange to find a student with his camera wandering in Santiago, capturing with his lens the essence of images such as old constructions, churches and university districts and society stereotypes.

A photographer's mystic resembles the way he wants to see the things that surround him. Most of them agree in their necessity of feeding themselves with the things they see, the images that come to us or the signals that existence leaves behind. Some of these may be almost subtle and others very obvious. Most of the time the format is 35 mm, changing the view of the situations and connotation of the images.

The value of photography is that somehow it has captured time, immortalizing facts and places that we may never see again.
