Language Language is one of the important features that give a culture their uniqueness from other cultures. Throughout the world people maintain and strengthen their cultural ties with each other through language. On some occasions languages from two distinct cultural groups mix with each other, and work together to enrich both languages. Such is the case with Spanish and English in the United States. Although, Spanish does have its origins in Spain, through colonization of the new world the Spanish language varies from region to region and from cultural group to cultural group. Even though the language is still written the same, there are linguistic variances in Mexicans, Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Columbians, Venezuelans, Dominicans, and so forth. Some words and phrases that are derived from Mexico and have mixed the Spanish language with the English language are: Head honcho Macho man Hot tamale Big burrito The whole enchilada Rodeo Rancho, ranch Vaquero, buckaroo Bronco, wild horse Chaparreras, chaps Moctezuma's revenge Hit it maestro, teacher Asta la vista baby, so long baby Adios amigo, good by friend
