Bannik

He was the divinity of the washhouse. He permitted three groups to use this facility. After the third group it was his turn. He asked devils and evil spirits to join him. The Slavs didn't dare to intrude in his bathing time. If this would happen he poured boiling water over them or in sometimes he even strangled them.

One could ask the Bannik about your future by standing with your naked back facing outside through the half-open door. If you got struck on the back with his claw, you were to have a dark and unpleasant future. If, on the other hand, he chose to gently touch your back, you were facing a wonderful future.
