Rain Bull

There is told of a wonderful rain bull that grazes in the reeds at the sources of springs. To make the ground fruitful you have to stalk and lassoed around its horns with a leather rope. This rope had to be bewitched by a medicine man or else it would not be strong enough to hold the bull.

When the bull is caught it has to be led across the ground that has to be fruitful. When it starts raining the bull has to be killed and cut up into pieces. The pieces have to be thrown on the places where the rain must fall. In these places the food would be in abundance.

It is also told that you should not anger the rain bull, as this would cause rainstorms and thunder. If you want a gentle rain moistening the earth the bull has to be kept calm at all times.
