In the XVIIIth century, the main Brazilian economic activity became the gold. The blacks were taken to the interior of Brazil, where, inside mines and margin of rivers, they sought coveted metal.
The expectation of life of the black in that activity decreased, therefore the slave was subject to bad weather . The black's possibilities to win freedom from their master also increased, therefore they were rewarded in case they found a great nugget of gold.
With the exploration of the gold, the cities appear inside Brazil . In the world of gold the black started also to execute urban works:to sell products in the streets or to prostitute by the owners' command ,was a more lucrative activity.
Many black slaves got to join money through the secret traffic of the gold or by compensations they received, for services rendered in the streets and they could buy the freedom.
