In the XVIth century ,in Africa, millions of blacks were pulled up violently from their political and social structure. About 20 million blacks were taken to America. 4 million were used as slaves in the fields and mines of colonial Brazil. It was three centuries of slavery, the hard reality of current Brazil was sowed: the blacks don't have the same opportunities , the whites have and they still continue victims of the intolerance and the racial and social discrimination. The work in the agriculture (plantation, weeds and crop) was done by the men and women , because machines and tractors didn't exist. The sugar cane economy ,that was developed in Brazil in the XVIth century , the increasing of plantation , making appear the need of more workers. As Portugal had a very small population, it didn't get to supply that need. Then the colonists appealed for the slavery. Another factor that made the black's capture as slave, was the high profitability that moved a lot of colonial capitals. The manual work became dirty and exclusive of " things " and " , as the blacks were considered.
