In Brazil, the social inequality is very strong, so much among white as among other ethnic groups; however, the situation of the blacks ,with rare exceptions, is probably worst. The black, doesn't got the whites' same economic and social conditions .
The blacks are victims of prejudices from people who consider them" inferior ", occupying subordinated positions . Announcements employment in the newspapers or offer of residences , that have the demand of ": good appearance " it is known that is a disguise to discard black.
It is known, that 80% of the domestic maids (cooks, cleaners) in middle class residences receive low wages, working all the day and a lot of times, even in the week ends and holidays, with the minimum works rights and little respect. A situation ,totally different from the developed countries, where those workers are valued, respected and compensated with appropriate wages.
The domestic maid's institution in Brazil appeared after the abolition of the slavery, until today and the domestic employees' majority is black. That was a form of continuing using the former-slaves by a low wages and without a treatment due to the proletarian free men.
In the constitution of the discriminated black family, abandoned socially, there are the children. Black youths are created without the minimum conditions of health, education and dwelling. They await with their family, on the margin of the society, the day they really can become free.
The black in Brazil occupies several positions that are not valued and they are not well paid, mainly.These are called underemployments. They wash automobiles, they sell goods in the streets, they grease shoes etc. A lot of times, as the opportunities of employments are not the same offered to the whites, the blacks tend to find in the criminality a form of surviving in a society where the racial democracy is a farce. That`s why in Brazil, to the high class, to be black and poor became synonym of marginal.
