The Deltaic biome.
Ecologically the Danube Delta is an association of ecosystems in a superior system represented by the deltaic biome. It is made up of 27 ecosystems tightly connected by interconnections in structure that constantly changes as the Delta develops. The very active dynamics, specific to every new territorial system, determines the special fragility of the deltaic biome. Any change that occurs in one place will rapidly spread on wide spaces, altering the system. It is a "codeweb" mechanism: each and every tear in codeweb knot will affect the entire web. That is why the preservation the Delta's nature should be everybody's main concern that is local inhabitants, tourists, economists, managers, and different administrations. The ecosystems in the Danube Delta are grouped into four categories: aquatic (11 ecosystems), paludous (4), terrestrial (5) and anthropic (7). Wide spaces of massive reed plots have the least number of ecosystems (2-3 ecosystems) and the marine fields Letea and Caraorman have the greatest number of ecosystems (16), which represents an outstanding ecological diversity.
