General Ecology

Specific Ecosystems

Welcome to A World of Diversity, this site will provide you with an overview of ecology, and the chance to explore and learn about several unique and dynamic ecosystems from around the world. On this page you will find a description of each aspect within "A World of Diversity." This page will guide you through the site, allowing you to unlock its full potential.

General Ecology, this section of the web site serves to give an in-depth overview of ecology.

Nutrient Cycles, learn about the basic earth cycles which sustain all life on earth and how they effect the ecosystems around us.
Ecology, learn about the general interactions and dynamics within ecosystems.
Biomes, obtain an overview of all the biomes on earth, from tropical rainforests to arctic tundra. This section will give you an understanding of the biome which you live in.
Biodiversity, learn about this relatively new area of ecology, what it means, and how it is one of the most important areas of modern science.
Human Aspect, here you can learn about humans and their reliance and impact on the environment surrounding them.

Specific Ecosystems, in this area you can learn about four unique ecosystems which we have reported in depth upon, by learning about these ecosystems you will be able to obtain a better understanding of the world around you and how the ecosystem you live in is similar yet distinct.

Mt. St. Helens, one of the most interesting areas in the world, Mt. St. Helens has contributed greatly to the scientific community. The May 18, 1980 eruption has allowed scientists to study the rebound of an ecosystem after a large natural disaster. This area of the site covers the geology, history, and ecology of Mt. St. Helens
Willapa Bay, a marine estuary, the Willapa Bay has provided insight on the dynamics and interactions of marine organisms and especially the threat of bioinvasioin.
Tide Pools of the Pacific coast are each dynamic ecosystems in their own right, often on tide pool is a distinct ecosystem, with specific interaction among its members.
Rainforest, here we discuss the Rainforests of Ecuador, where life and diversity of species is abundant. The tropical rainforests are giving scientists the understanding that there are many species surrounding us, and each is unique and special, found no where else on earth.
