Kirlian PhotographyBall Lightning Milk-Drinking Statues Weeping Statues Incorruptibility
|
What is it On Thursday 21 September 1995 at a Hindu Temple in New Delhi, when worshippers placed an offering of milk to a statue of the Indian elephant-headed deity Ganesha, to their shock, the statue started to drink their milk from their spoons! And of course, the word spread from one place to another swiftly, but instead of people having it deemed as a joke, it was found that nearly all across Asia, people witnessed the Hindu statues of deities sucking milk from the spoons. The weirdest thing was that soon, even in North America and Africa was this phenomena recorded too! Television reports and news kept showing images of these deities sucking milk from people's hands and spoon. They just kept drinking! It was also said that in a temple in Hong Kong, one such deity even drank 20 litres of milk! But the phenomena ended as swiftly as it had begun, and by the next day, 22 September, the idols worldwide somehow all stopped drinking milk! People has seen it as a miracle, but this had left many baffled. What is believed to have happened To many Hindu worshippers and others, this was the result of the deities coming down from Heaven to accept the worshippers offerings, by drinking the milk. Many said that it was a day when God finally realised that they had to accept the offerings, and thus, the statues of these deities started sucking up the milk. Worshippers just believed it was a miracle, and to many, this convinced them that God did exist. What scientists believed Scientists worldwide deemed it as simple theory of science, that of the milk was actually being absorbed by the statues, and not "sucked". They believed that what actually happened was that the molecules in the marble's rough surface created a capillary channel, which sucks in the droplets quite rapidly. These then spread into a very thin layer which is difficult to see. Conclusion To many worshippers, this was the act of God, nothing to do with Science. But the scientists gave a reasonable scientific theory that could have answered the question of this miracle. But the scientists theory was well questioned when it was noted that even metal statues sucked milk! Also, it would not explain how the statues took in that great an amount of milk. Till today, just about 5 years since it happened, many are still baffled. No one has been able to give an answer, but it is still widely believed to be a work of wonder from the deities up there. What do you think?
