Coincidences

What is it?

A coincidence is defined as a sequence of events that, although accidental, seems to have been planned or arranged. However, this explanation may be flawed. What if things were not planned, and were not accidental? Coincidences can sometimes become far too obvious and unexplainable, when a string of events extends far too long.

Some coincidences are amazingly weird. Coincidences like those between American presidents Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy’s, coincidences that prevent many lives being lost, coincidences that let two people meet up after years of separation etc. The coincidences that have occurred are innumerable, and often leave deep impressions in people.

The Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy coincidence is very intricate, and it seems that they were fated to be. This is just one of the many coincidences which happened in large scale.

  1. Lincoln was appointed into the Congress in 1846. Kennedy was appointed into the Congress in 1946.
  2. Lincoln’s election to presidency was in 1860. Kennedy’s was in 1960.
  3. Lincoln’s vice-President was a Johnson. So was Kennedy’s.
  4. Kennedy was shot in a Lincoln car, manufactured by Ford. Lincoln was murdered in the Ford Theatre.
  5. Lincoln’s secretary was a Kennedy. Kennedy’s secretary was a Lincoln.
  6. Both were shot in the back of the head, with their wives, and they had predicted their deaths lesser than a day beforehand.
  7. The person who killed Lincoln shot him in the theatre, and ran to a storage barn. Kennedy’s assassin shot from a warehouse, who later ran into a theatre.
  8. Both of these assassins were murdered later.

Is this truly coincidence? Why was it so coincidental that they had so many similarities?

Another case of astounding coincidence occurred in the town of Beatrice, Nebraska. A church choir’s practice was supposed to start at 7.20 pm. However, the minister’s wife was having trouble pressing her daughter’s dress, two of them wanted to tune in to a radio programme, a girl tried to hurry her Maths homework, another family’s car wouldn’t start no matter what. This resulted in an absence of people around the church. The twist in this happening was that at 7.25 pm that day, the church exploded in flames due to a gas explosion.

What could it be?

Coincidences could very well be planned happenings arranged by higher, mysterious powers. And yet, some of these coincidences have brought severe mishaps.

Coincidences could also be just what it is. But with these extravagant cases being so rare, one cannot leave it alone and ignore it.

Conclusion

Coincidences are something that even genius Einstein was fascinated about. We know about the existence of coincidences, but what do they mean? There is no fixed conclusion to coincidences, but there remains an element of mystery shrouding these happenings.
