::: 3.30 Sampling Distributions :::

Just as we have begun every other section with a description of terms, we must begin this one the same way as well. First, a number that describes a population is a parameter, while a number that can be computed from the sample data is a statistic. A specific type of statistic from a probability sample has a sampling distribution. The sampling distribution is a representation of what would occur if the experiment is repeated many times.
