Epilogue

Students
Pil-Su was the team graphics expert. The majority of the site visual layout as well as the individual graphics were done by Pil-Su. In addition, Pil-Su also worked on some of the html structure of the website.

Cheong-Cheon was the main php3 programmer. Cheong also worked on the html structure of the website as well as creating the Pyramid of Oath.

Jaemin served the team as content leader. Jaemin figured out the logical layout: topics to be covered, nesting of ideas, etc. He did the main research and writing of the articles. In addition, most of the translating into Korean was also completed by Jaemin.

CHALLENGES

The main challenge our team faced was the sheer time difference. Chances were if Jaemin was awake, then Cheong-Cheon and Pil-Su were not, and vice versa. Although there was a small window of time when all three members would be awake normally, not all urgent problems were addressed during these times. This meant that it took longer than normal to fix problems and deal with them. This required tremendous amounts of planning ahead and developing a system of constant communication through e-mail. As for technical challenges, this was Cheong-Cheon¡¯s first time creating a website using php3. The challenge was to learn the language from scratch and think how it could apply to our page, and our needs. At first, we planned to organize the website using frames, but that had many bugs and issues to resolve, so instead we resorted to the use of tables. However, after learning about php, we realized that it would be the best way to organize our website, and it would offer us th! e best way to edit our pages. In addition, the other two members of the team had to be trained on how to edit the website now that php was implemented. This was also one of Jaemin¡¯s first uses of online languages and programming. Although he served the team as the main researcher and writer, it was imperative that he know how the website worked, and how to edit something that he did not like. As if these challenges were not enough, there was somewhat of a language barrier that seperated the team. Both Cheong-Cheon and Pil-Su were much more comfortable with Korean than with English, and Jaemin was the opposite way. Therefore, much of the explaining took much more effort than normal just due to language differences. Jaemin would translate the articles as best as he could, then the other two members would rewrite them since they had a better command of the Korean language. However, when there were questions, it took a lot of time and effort to get the questions cleared! up.
