the benefits of having lucid dreams:

One of the most captivating benefits of having lucid dreams are the ability to fulfill the dreamer's fantasies: sky diving, scuba diving, jumping out of a moving train, spending time with a famous movie star, sex, etc.  Better yet, there would be no real physical consequences to any of the actions the dreamer takes. Lucid dreams can be used in productive ways as well. Since there are no physical consequences to the dreamer, the dreamer may use this type of dream to confront their nightmares and worst fears. For instance, the dreamer may be afraid of flying in reality, through lucid dreams, s/he can choose to dream about flying in an airplane over and over again to confront this fear. After the dreamer wakes up, his or her fear may very likely be reduced. Besides confronting fear, the dreamer may also use lucid dreams for healing purposes. According to the Lucidity Institute, the vivid soothing imagery that one can produce in a dream may help in reducing stress, pain, anxiety and so on.  Lucid dreams can also provide intellectual advancement aside from personal well-being. The dreamer may use the time s/he spent in lucid dreaming to solve problems as well as improving their motor skills. According to the institute's research, dreamers are more creative while dreaming than in reality. Thus, by using lucid dreams to solve problems, the dreamer may encounter new approaches or answers that would be otherwise impossible or extremely difficult in reality. The ability to improve one's  motor skills in lucid dreaming was also tested. According to Paul Tholey, a writer and a sportsman, lucid dreaming can be used to learn new motor skills as we as perfecting one's learned skills.
