Sigmund Freud was not
the person who invented the idea of the conscious versus unconscious mind, but he was the
one who allowed the idea to become popular. The term conscious mind refers to whatever you
are aware of at any moment, your present perceptions, thoughts, memories, feelings,
fantasies, whatever from your thoughts. In
addition to terms, preconscious is what Sigmund Freud used for working closely with the
conscious mind, it is also known as "available memory." Available memory means
anything can be easily made conscious, memories or thoughts that may not be thinking at
the very moment, but it can be ready to bring to mind. As of right now, no one has yet
disagree or have had any problems with these two layers of mind, Freud says that these are
the smallest parts.
The largest part as of now is the unconscious. The
unconscious involves everything that is not easily becoming available to awareness. In
addition of many things that have their origins there, such as our drives or instincts. |
