9.The internal courtyards

  The closed ground between the fortifications of a fortress is internal courtyard. There were the anexesof the castle, the storehouses, the stables a few houses and, sometimes, the chapel. All these buildings were placed, beyond the beating, then when the dimensions of the courtyard could be adapted to this, and if they couldn't be adapted, these were added at the fortification walls on the side from where it presumed that the attack will come, with the purpose that the projectiles which would pass the wall to last in abyss then when the projectiles will be finished their trajectory.
