Hi, My name is "Equiz". My friends Yanjie, Eneas and Ivan told me that they were participating in an internet contest, that they were doing a project about mathematics. Lets answer the typical question... What are Mathematics?
I bet this would be a perfect answer for most of the people who don't like Math: "Something that teachers created to make students' life miserable". Nope, since the very beginning, Math were created to make humanity's life easier, not painful. As everything else, Math have evolved through out the time.

The dictionary defines Mathematics as the science of spatial and numerical relationships. Like other sciences, Mathematics are divide into Pure Mathematics, which involves Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and Calculus (terrifying words for many people), and Applied Mathematics, where we find Mechanics, Statistics, Astronomy, Numerical Analysis, Computing, Electricity, Optics, Atomic Studies, and others.

Why do people often dislike Math?
That's a question that I haven't been able to answer myself yet. When I was younger, some friends of mine didn't like math because they didn't understand them very well, so Math used to be hard for them. Some others used to hate them, because they said that they wouldn't use them in their near future. I tried my best and helped the first group understand Math, thus math became much easier for them after few time. The second group was a little bit tough. There was this boy that used to say that he wouldn't need Math ever in his life because he would be a Doctor. "So doctors don't need Math, that's what you're saying right?" I told him. "Right!", he replied. "Well, you do will need Math!" I said, "Yeah? And what would I want them for?" he asked. "Doctors don't use math the same way engineers or mathematicians do, that's right. But, doctors do use Math. They have to make diagnostics and give you medication. And in order to do that, they have to calculate the amount of medication that you'll take during your treatment. That's one example"... Since that day, he never rejected math again.
