Noise Control Ordinance
ccali.jpg (2874 bytes)The EPD's Acoustic Testing Laboratory is the only laboratory in Hong Kong with full HOKLAS accreditation of its acoustic calibration services. Over 40 sets of equipment used in the enforcement of the Noise Control Ordinance are calibrated annually.

Water Pollution Control Ordinance
Effluent-producing factories (e.g. electroplating factories) are required to connect their effluents to an effluent pretreatment system and then to a foul water sewer

cbeach.jpg (3025 bytes)Beach water quality monitoring is carried out to enable the government to take action in case the beaches are found unacceptable for swimming. Under the Water Pollution Control Ordinance, the objective set for all bathing beach subzones in the Water Control Zones is that the level of E. coli should not exceed 180 per 100ml calculated as geometric mean for all samples collected from March to October inclusive.
