		Earliest men lived as hunters.
		They depended on only a small number of animals and wild vegetation on earth.
		They were able to fit into the food wed, carbon cycle and nitrogen cycle of their ecosystem.
Once agricultural techniques had been improved, the earth could support a larger and larger population of men.  (see Birth Control) They ploughed up more land to grow crops and built more cities to house more people. These activities upset the balance between men and their environment.
