The API represents a standard expression
of composite variations in air quality and its value ranges from between
0-500. The following are the possible health effects for different
ranges of API figures:-

Very
Unhealthy |
People
who have breathing or heart problems will experience significant
aggravation of their symptoms and there will also be widespread
symptoms in the healthy population. These will include eye irritation,
wheezing, coughing, phlegm and sore throats. |
