Robinson-Patman
Act (1936)
The Robinson-Patman Act was meant to
elaborate the types of price-fixing that was declared illegal in the Clayton
Act. It was aimed at protecting small producers from being frozen out of markets
by larger corporations by local price-cutting, not at addressing the effects of
price-fixing on consumers.
