Some analysts say that worldwide competition and the newly emerging global economy make competition here in the home market a moot point. Furthermore, large combinations of American companies stand a better chance against foreign competitors, so deregulating large corporations would assure that industry would stay strong here in America. Others say that if we are to continue busting trusts, the old system of government regulation is too slow to handle the job. The internet and other communication and transportation technologies have changed the face of business forever, and many analysts say the government cannot keep up with businesses working at the modern speed of technology.
