Fashion in the 60's was controlled by the public. Whatever they wanted, they got. Everything from citrus-colored sandals to spacey, iridescently rainbow platforms to classic colonial or Edwardian-style pumps were in demand.

The 60's was marked by Civil Right movements and revolution. Even art, music and literature was entirely experimental. The Beatles, Motown and Bob Dylan encouraged change and creativity. 

Teenagers influenced by celebrities wore more colourful and expressive designs. As a result, shoes reflected the rampant experimentation with color, texture, shape, and style.

For ladies, the stiletto-heels were the most popular. It was considered an essential in every girl's wardrobe and seemed to go with any kind of outfit.

*Stiletto-heeled with rhinestone trimmed flowers from 1969.

Elegant and smart at the same time, women demanded for designs to fit their everyday wardrobe. As a result, stiletto-heel design was pushed to the limit.
