Fashion in the 60's was controlled by the public. Whatever they wanted, they
got. Everything from citrus-colored sandals to spacey, iridescently rainbow
platforms to classic colonial or Edwardian-style pumps were in demand.

The 60's was marked by Civil Right movements and revolution. Even art, music
and literature was entirely experimental. The Beatles, Motown and Bob Dylan
encouraged change and creativity.

colourful and expressive designs. As a result, shoes reflected the rampant
experimentation with color, texture, shape, and style.
