Filtering: The task of filtering indicates the ability to intercept a quantity of interest, even though it's hidden inside some kind of distortion or noise. We as humans are also able to perform filtering, in many situations we are forced to isolate one voice from hundreds of others, in order to get the information we need. Neural networks can, just as the brain, be trained to remove noise from various sources with great results.
