Neural networks : Introduction : NN History (5 of 5)

Other scientists also gave life to the neural network. Among them was John Hopfield, who showed that an asynchronous network with time could adjust and find a minimum, where it used the least "energy". Thereby it could develop a behaviour like the human brain, that uses content addressing. This form of neural network was known as the Hopfield network.

Although computers have reached a speed hundred times faster since the beginning of the research, there are still problems with the training when too much input is added. Many things have been made to solve the problem - hardware solutions, like accelerator cards, can increase the calculation speed of the neural network strikingly.

An anecdote of how the neural networks sees the world is found here.
