Itīs botanical name is Origanum vulgare. This plant
belongs to the Lamiaceas family. Its infused leaves
act as expectorant, abortive, antispasmodic, diaphoretic,
digestive, antiseptic, emmenagogic, antigrippe, carminative
and insecticide.
