This monument on the greenbelt immediately
south of Peace memorial Paek across the Pace
Boulevard was built by the Hirohsima District
Committee of the Japan Association of Casualty
Insurance Underwriters on Augst 3, 1965.
This monument is dedicated to the 89 employees
of the Hiroshima Branch of the Tokyo Marine
Fire Insurance Association and themember
companies of the Japan Association of Casualty
In surance Underwriters. This marble monument
is 3.3 meters high and was designed by Shindo
Tsuji of the Kyoto Municipal Art Collegeiat
present, Koto City University of Artsj.
The four crosses on top of the column symbolize
human bodies. "Four" represents
the whole woild. The four human shapes express
the ties of love and conscience of all the
people of the world who long for peace.
