• Main Upgrading Programme (MUP)
  The Main Upgrading Programme (MUP) was introduced to upgrade the homes and the living environment of Singaporeans living in the HDB estates. It is part of the Government's continual efforts to enhance the quality of life of Singaporeans through its public housing programme.

• Selective En-bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS)

Under SERS, HDB identifies and acquires old blocks of sold flats in sites with high redevelopment potential. New replacement flats are built nearly before old sold flats are demolished for optimum land use. The scheme therefore enables residents in the older housing estates to upgrade to new and better flats without having to move out of their existing estate, which they are accustomed to.
