St Nicholas Girls School Band was established in 1972 by Sister Francois Lee, a former principal of the school. The Band has evolved from a modest 30-member Brass Band to a Military Band and finally to a full-fledged Symphonic Band with a strength of more than 100 members.

Besides being actively involved in school functions, the Band constantly receives invitations to perform at public functions such as the Total Defence Exhibition at Fort Canning Hill, the Open House at the High Court, MacRitchie Reservoir Park, the Public Service Sports Carnival and at the opening of the Istana Grounds to the public on Hari Raya Puasa.
